ITF Umpire Course Germany 2017
AITF – ITF Umpire Course Germany 2017

The weekend of May 27th – 28th saw another milestone event in the life of AITF, when Master Franks, Master McCarthy and Mr. Flaherty attended the International Umpire Seminar in Bochum Germany.
The instructors for the course were Master Maidana and Master Perez who are leading members of ITF Tournament Committee. GM Nicholls was also in attendance at the event which was hosted by GER-ITF.
The course was held over two intense sessions. On Saturday afternoon the Masters introduced the attendees to the rules and also to changes in the procedures and to some new rules. After almost 5 hours of explanations, questions and discussions in the classroom setting the umpire candidates were looking forward to day two.
Sunday morning started early when the Masters led the candidates as a group and went through the commands, umpire signals and procedures before breaking into groups of three for some extra practice. After a short refreshment break the group reformed for some Tul practice and a short photo shoot for each country attending before finally taking lunch. The final part of the course dealt with Power and Special Technique.
On behalf of AITF we would like to thank our very gracious host Mr. Galinski and all members of GER-ITF for a most enjoyable weekend and the Masters for their excellent work in providing a fantastic course.
